How do you clean a bottom loading water cooler?

A bottom loading water cooler is the best upgrade a regular water dispenser could ever have gotten. It allows you to refill your cooler without having to lift heavy bottles of water.

This makes your life increasingly easier because you also do not have to deal with water splashing everywhere when you overturn the bottle before you place it on the dispenser.

That said, cleaning a bottom loading water dispenser is pretty similar to cleaning a regular top loading water dispenser. It is essential to do it every few weeks to prevent the growth of microorganisms that can be harmful to your health.

Here are the steps you need to follow to clean a bottom loading water cooler;

  1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. This will prevent any electrocution accidents.
  2. Remove the water bottle
  3. Mix your cleaning solution in the water bottle. First, you need to figure out what to clean a bottom loading water dispenser with. You can use one of the options below.
  • Using unscented bleach: Mix 1 tablespoon of bleach with a gallon of water. Ensure you do not spill it on your clothes as they will fade.
  • Using a vinegar solution: Mix 1 quart of vinegar with 3 quarts of warm water.
  1. Clean the dispenser: Use the cleaning solution to wipe down the cooler. Make sure you wipe all the parts to prevent the growth of green algae in the water dispenser.
  2. Hook up the cleaning bottle: Reinstall the water bottle and turn on the water dispenser.
  3. Drain and rinse the reservoir
  4. Replace parts and plug in
  5. Clean the water drip tray

Please note that cleaning a hot water dispenser is similar to cleaning the bottom lading cooler.

Just make sure there is no hot water left in the reservoir before you wipe down the spouts. To avoid scalding yourself.
