How to hang a shower caddy on tile

If you don’t already know, hanging a shower caddy from your shower head is ill-advised. It will wear down your shower over time which may lead to a bad plumbing problem. A great alternative to doing this is to install a shower caddy with suction cups. Some shower caddies come with suction cups, but if not you can buy the hooks with the cups.

How to correctly hang a shower caddy on tile

Follow the following steps when you want to hang your shower caddy on tiles without drilling or permanently marking the tiles.

  1. Step one: it is crucial to clean the surface thoroughly, so there is no dirt on the surface. If the walls are quite dirty, clean them using soap and water, rinse then dry them off. Next, use alcohol to do this and ensure that it is thoroughly wiped down.
  2. Step two: Run the shower caddy hook suction cup under some warm water and shake it off to remove the excess water. Stick the suction cups ensuring that no air is trapped inside as this may make them unstable hence unsuitable for hanging your shower caddy.
  3. Step three: if you wonder how do you hold a shower caddy in place? You may use a silicone sealant around the outside of the cups. Let the sealant settle for about a day then you may mount your shower caddy.

You can slip in a putty knife or even a regular small knife that will take it off quickly give you more flexibility especially when doing a thorough cleaning to get rid of rust or grime.

Using silicone adhesive is not a mandatory way to get the shower caddy to stay up. But, if you are uncertain about your ability to correctly stick suction cups for textured tile, then it is an excellent way of securing it. However, it is vital to use good-quality suction cups that are light and flexible. With the tips above, you should be able to hang your shower caddy on tile easily.
