Steps to stop a soap dispenser from dripping
- First and foremost, inspect the plastic tube that transfers the soap from the jar to the pump. This is to make sure it is connected to the pump top correctly. If it is loose and it can be fixed, then do so. If not, get a replacement from a used soap dispensing bottle if you are using a countertop soap dispensing bottle. In the case of under the sink soap dispensers, then get a replacement tube. Check to ensure it is for your particular brand and from the manufacturer.
- Next, check to see if the soap has congealed in the spout and clear it. You can do this by soaking the spout in hot water and using a toothpick or other small object that can fit in the spout to remove the soap deposit. Then close the lid and test if it is still dripping.
- Another option is to tighten the sink soap dispenser. The leak could be a result of a loose pump. Try wiggling the pump a couple of times to reset the spring inside the pump that helps to pump the soap. This should help to realign it and prevent further dripping.
- Finally, look into the easiest solution to stop the soap dispenser from leaking from the top. Dilute your soap. If you are using dense soap, then chances are there will always be leftover soap in the spout after you pump that will end up leaking onto your counter.
