Ninja Foodi is a great electric pressure cooker equipped with an air fryer and sous vide. It is popular among most households because of its amazing features and user-friendliness. However, it may be prone to a few technical problems, just like any other electric appliance.

You might face one or two of these problems and not know what action to take. You can solve some of them by yourself while others need the help of a technician. This article will detail the most common Ninja Foodi problems and troubleshooting tips.

Ninja Foodi troubleshooting tips for the most common problems

Most of the issues that affect Ninja Foodi include a leaking valve, a defective fuse, or a problematic pressure release valve. We’ll discuss each of these issues and provide working solutions.

1. Ninja Foodi pressure release valve is not working

It is normal for the Ninja Foodi pressure release valve to be loose to alternate between VENT and SEAL during cooking. The pressure release can be loose or damaged because of the following reasons:

  • Loose lid

You should first check the lid and ensure that it is sealed correctly. To do this, twist and check whether it is wobbly or firm. If it is wobbly, you need to replace the lid for the pressure valve to function.

  • Loose pressure release valve

The pressure release valve may also be loose and require some tightening. You can check how to tighten it on the Ninja Foodi user manual. If, however, it falls off or veers to the side, it is damaged or broken and requires replacement.

2. Lid is not sealing

When the lid is not sealing, it will affect the pressure buildup inside the cooker and take a long time to cook food. The solution is to close the lid completely until you hear a click sound.

  • Overfilled cooking pot

The cooker is not sealing because the Ninja Foodi is overfilled. If this problem is not solved, the food inside will get ruined, or the cooker will. You should therefore insert a considerate amount of ingredients in the cooker. If you notice that it is overfilled, reduce the amount of food inside and check whether the lid will seal.

  • Broken sealing ring

Another reason why the lid is not sealing is that the sealing ring is broken. It is the white ring inside the lid and prevents steam from escaping during sous vide. If the sealing ring is broken, it requires replacement for the Ninja Foodi to function properly.

3. Leaking steam

You might notice steam clouding around the lid even though it is secured. There are some reasons why your lid is leaking steam.

The gasket may be dirty or damaged and causing the steam leaks. It may take longer for the cooker to build up pressure and hence make the food cook longer. It is therefore important that you clean the gasket and firmly fit it in place.

If it is damaged, you should consult a repair technician to replace it and get your cooker working. If not fixed earlier, the cooker will not maintain the pressure and will decrease its cooking performance.

You should also clean up the food remains around the rim and ensure that it has no cracks. It is recommended that you clean the rim with cold water since using hot water causes the rim to bend out of shape.

4. Ninja Foodi is blinking red

The Ninja Foodi is blinking red because the lid is not properly sealed, and therefore, it cannot start the pressure buildup. One way to solve this is by thoroughly cleaning the appliance to remove any food remains. When tightening the lid, ensure that the arrowheads are aligned in the line.

Another reason why the cooker is blinking red is that it is experiencing a mechanical issue such as a faulty fuse. If this is the case, you should contact a technician to solve the issue.

There is also a chance that the sensor is defective. It may be defective because of natural wear and tear or randomly failed. You should test it by unplugging the cooker and letting it rest for a few minutes. Next, plug it back into the socket and see if the blinking stops. If it does not, you should contact the Ninja Foodi customer service for further assistance.

Power interruptions may also cause the cooker to blink red. Check whether the power cables are in good condition and not damaged. Damaged cables prevent proper electric current flow. Consult an electrician to change the power cables or check your power connection.

5. Ninja Foodi won’t turn on

Ninja foodi air fryer

The reason why the Ninja Foodi is not turning on is because of the power connection. You can check whether the power cables are in good condition and properly connected.

If the power cables are cut or damaged, you should contact an electrician to repair them. In case there is a power outage, consult an electrician to solve the electrical issue.

6. The Ninja Foodi lid is unable to open

You might have an issue opening the lid because of excessive pressure buildup in the cooker. In normal situations, the lid will not open until the pressure cooker is completely depressurized. You can release this pressure by turning the pressure valve to the VENT pressure.

The lid may also jam because of insufficient pressure release. You can fix this issue by running the pressure cooker through cold water. it releases the pressure buildup inside the cooker and loosens up the lid. You can also release the pressure by trying to remove the pressure release valve.

7. The cooker is hissing and not building up pressure

You might have turned on the cooker but there is no pressure. Ensure that the pressure release valve is turned to the SEAL position. If the hissing sound continues, the silicone seal is not properly shut.

You can solve this issue by pressing the START/STOP button to stop cooking, followed by the VENT button. Next, press the silicone ring down and ensure it is fully fit and lying flat under the ring rack. When it is fully installed, you can lightly tug the ring and rotate it to open it.

8. Error message is appearing on the display screen

When the Ninja Foodi is experiencing technical issues, it alerts the user through error messages on the display screen. There are different error messages for different issues and they are listed below:

  • POT error message

It means that the cooking pot is not inside the cooker base. Ensure that the pot is properly inserted into the cooking base because the cooker will not start if it is not.

  • LID error message

This error message will appear on the display screen and a flashing lid icon. It means that you have placed the wrong lid for the required cooking function. Cooking functions such as Keep Warm, Sear/Sauté, Slow Cook and Pressure require placing the lid tightly.

  • SHUT error message

It means that the crisping lid is open and must be closed for the desired function to start.

  • VENT error message

If the cooker is set to Slow Cook or Sear/Sauté function and there is pressure buildup, the pressure release valve is in SEAL position. You should turn the pressure release valve to the VENT position and let it stay there during the cooking function. If you fail to do this within five minutes, the cooking function will stop and the cooker will shut itself off.

  • WATR error message

When the WATR message appears on the display screen during the Steam function, it indicates that the water level is too low. If this is the case, add water into the unit so that the function can continue.

If, however, it displays this error when the unit during the Pressure function, ensure that the silicone ring is properly fit. You should also add more water to the unit before starting the pressure cook cycle. In addition, make sure that the pressure valve is in the SEAL position before starting the function.

  • HOT error message

It indicates that the cooker has overheated and thus requires some time to cool down. When it has finally cooled, check whether there is enough water in the cooking pot for the food you are preparing. There should also be no food at the bottom of the pot to prevent it from burning.

  • ERR1, EER2, ERR3, EER4, EER5, and EER6 error messages

If any of these error messages appear on the display screen,p the unit is experiencing technical issues. You should therefore contact the Ninja Kitchen customer service at 1-877-646-5288.

Final words

The Ninja Foodi electrical pressure cooker is a reliable and easy-to-use pressure cooker. It may, however, experience technical issues while using it. Some of the issues have easy, straightforward solutions such as error messages and lid errors.

Others such as electrical issues and internal part replacements require the assistance of a professional repair technician. Whatever solution you try, your pressure cooker will function properly and serve you for a long time.

A Nutribullet blender is a great machine for blending your favorite fruits into juices and smoothies. However, there are situations where the blades may cease to function or suddenly stop spinning. You may have tried switching it on and off, and it still did not work.

There are several reasons why your Nutribullet blades are not working. We’ve covered each of these reasons and provided working solutions.

Reasons why your Nutribullet blender blade is not spinning

These are the most common reasons why the blades on your Nutribullet blender are not working:

1. You have unplugged it from the power supply

The first thing you need to check is whether the blender is connected to the power source. You may have accidentally disconnected the Nutribullet, so you only have to connect it and switch it on.

2. The Nutribullet has been in use for a long period

Nutribullet blender blade

Your Nutribullet blender is not working, maybe because it has constantly been operating for a long time. The blender’s manufacturers recommend that you use it for not more than one minute at a time. Prolonged use may accelerate wear and tear, which stops the blades from spinning.

It is, therefore, best that once you’ve finished using the blender, disconnect it from the power source and let it rest for some time before using it again.

3. The blender’s motor is overheated

Another reason why your Nutribullet blades are not spinning is that the Nutribullet’s motor is overheated. Blending your juices or smoothies for more than one minute makes the motors overheat and, in turn, stops the blades from spinning. It is advised that you unplug the blender and let it cool for one minute so that the powerbase restarts.

Sometimes the blender may emit a burning smell in addition to the blade not turning. There are two options for fixing a Nutribullet motor in such a situation.

  • It would help if you immediately unplug it to prevent further damage and let it rest for an hour. Once the one-hour rest is up, you can plug it back in and blend again.
  • You can disassemble the motor parts and diagnose the problem if the first step doesn’t work.

4. Faulty activators

The white activators at the top of the Nutribullet’s power base can also stop the blades from working. When the activators are faulty or stuck, the Nutribullet blender blade will not be spinning freely.

The solution to that is to replace the activators using the following steps:

  • Turn the blender over to the bottom, unscrew the screws at the bottom and remove the loose plastic bottom by pulling it up.
  • Raise the power cord away from the curved base and unscrew the screws that hold the white bracket down.
  • Unscrew the screws that hold the base and lift the curved base away from the outside casing.
  • Shake the outside casing until it is detached from the power base.
  • Position the Nutribullet powerbase at an angle where the white activators are visible. Using your fingers or tweezers, you can separate the rubber protectors from the activators.
  • Unscrew the screws at the sides of the power base.
  • Place the Nurtibullet blender facing upwards and lift the plastic casing.
  • Find out which activator is not working by applying pressure to them. Unscrew the screws attached to the activators, which are three in total.
  • Once you’ve identified the faulty activator, pull it away from the slot using little force.
  • Undo the green switch. The metal tab and black button will fall out. Fidget with the metal switch inside to get it back into place and then reassemble the blender. To know if you have reassembled it properly, you will hear a clicking sound.

If this method does not make your activator work, contact customer service for help.

5. The wires or internal components of the blender are exposed

Another reason your Nutribullet stopped working suddenly during use because the blender’s wires are exposed, which is very dangerous.

If wires and other internal parts are exposed during use, you should immediately unplug the blender and replace the outer wire casing or its internal parts.

Hopefully, you have managed to troubleshoot and fix the Nutribullet blade that is not spinning. If you are still encountering any issues, let us know via the comment section.

One of the most common problems with a Whirlpool refrigerator is the failure to dump ice cubes. There are many reasons behind it. We’ll explain them and provide their DIY solutions.

This is to help your refrigerator function effectively, save you the repair costs, and ensure you get ice cubes whenever you need them.

Reasons your Whirlpool ice maker is not dumping ice

Before you rush to call a technician, check this troubleshooting guide and try the recommended fixes.

1. The ice maker is off

When your ice maker is OFF, it won’t dump ice into the tray. Look for the power switch and make sure it’s turned ON. If you can’t find it check your appliance manual.

In case the ice maker doesn’t start to dump the ice cubes, test the switch for continuity using a multimeter. If it lacks continuity, replace it.

For some refrigerator models, check the control arm. You might have nudged it OFF accidentally while cleaning. Move it down to turn it ON and you’re good to go.

2. Ejector arm and harvesting fingers are jammed

Jamming the ejector’s arm and harvesting fingers also prevent the ice maker from dumping ice. This happens when ice accumulates around the ejector arm or freezes on the strippers causing an ice bridge that blocks the harvesting fingers.

To solve the issue, remove the accumulated ice using a plastic utensil so that you don’t damage any components. You can also pour warm water until the ice melts and frees the harvesting fingers. If you notice any damage on the ejector arm and harvesting fingers, replace them immediately.

3. The ice maker auger motor is burnt

The motor is responsible for pushing ice through the system. So, when it malfunctions the ice maker won’t dump ice into the tray. Check if the motor turns freely then use a multimeter to test it gets power.

Remove any physical obstacles that might be hindering the performance of the auger motor. If the power supply is okay but the motor is not working, then it could be burnt and must be replaced.

4. The dispenser control board failed

Whirlpool fridge ice maker

Another reason your Whirlpool Ice Maker is not working is that the dispenser control board has failed. This part controls most of the ice dispenser systems. Therefore, a malfunction stalls all those systems, plus the ones depending on them.

To be sure the dispenser control board has failed, test the different ice dispenser components with a multimeter. If none of them works, then your control board is faulty and should be fixed.

The first solution is to reset the control board. To do that, look for a reset button and press it or unplug the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes then plug it back in. The other option is to replace the dispenser control board. Make sure you order the right part.

5. A faulty mold thermostat

If you’ve got this far and your Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker is not dispensing ice still, you need to check the mold thermostat.

This part is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the ice molds and prompting an automatic ice dump when the mold gets to a certain temperature.

Now, when the mold thermostat doesn’t work, the temperature change will go unnoticed, hence the ice maker won’t dispense the ice it has produced.

The solution here is to replace the ice maker mold thermostat.

6. Icemaker mold heater failure

Whenever the ice maker produces enough ice cubes, the ice maker mold heater is triggered to heat the mold to loosen the ice cubes. This ensures they drop into the storage bin easily.

When the mold heater fails, the ice cubes remain stuck on the mold. You’ll have to pour hot water to free the ice or use a dryer on low. The long-term solution is to replace the ice maker mold heater.

7. Defective ice level control board

Lastly, the reason your Whirlpool Ice Maker is not dumping ice is a defective ice level control board. This part features an infrared sensor that detects the level of ice in the collecting tray/bucket. Once it gets to the top the beam is blocked and this stops the ice production and harvesting cycle.

When you use the ice and it drops below the beam, ice production and harvesting continue normally.

If the infrared sensor is blocked or damaged, the ice maker thinks the bucket is full so it doesn’t produce or dump ice cubes. You’ll have to remove the obstacle blocking the infrared light beam or replace the entire ice level control board to solve this problem.

Now that you know why your Whirlpool ice maker is not dumping ice and how to fix the problem, you should get started right away. If your situation seems too complex and none of the solutions work, reach out to a qualified fridge technician.
