Nutribullet blade is not spinning. How to fix

A Nutribullet blender is a great machine for blending your favorite fruits into juices and smoothies. However, there are situations where the blades may cease to function or suddenly stop spinning. You may have tried switching it on and off, and it still did not work.

There are several reasons why your Nutribullet blades are not working. We’ve covered each of these reasons and provided working solutions.

Reasons why your Nutribullet blender blade is not spinning

These are the most common reasons why the blades on your Nutribullet blender are not working:

1. You have unplugged it from the power supply

The first thing you need to check is whether the blender is connected to the power source. You may have accidentally disconnected the Nutribullet, so you only have to connect it and switch it on.

2. The Nutribullet has been in use for a long period

Your Nutribullet blender is not working, maybe because it has constantly been operating for a long time. The blender’s manufacturers recommend that you use it for not more than one minute at a time. Prolonged use may accelerate wear and tear, which stops the blades from spinning.

It is, therefore, best that once you’ve finished using the blender, disconnect it from the power source and let it rest for some time before using it again.

3. The blender’s motor is overheated

Another reason why your Nutribullet blades are not spinning is that the Nutribullet’s motor is overheated. Blending your juices or smoothies for more than one minute makes the motors overheat and, in turn, stops the blades from spinning. It is advised that you unplug the blender and let it cool for one minute so that the powerbase restarts.

Sometimes the blender may emit a burning smell in addition to the blade not turning. There are two options for fixing a Nutribullet motor in such a situation.

  • It would help if you immediately unplug it to prevent further damage and let it rest for an hour. Once the one-hour rest is up, you can plug it back in and blend again.
  • You can disassemble the motor parts and diagnose the problem if the first step doesn’t work.

4. Faulty activators

The white activators at the top of the Nutribullet’s power base can also stop the blades from working. When the activators are faulty or stuck, the Nutribullet blender blade will not be spinning freely.

The solution to that is to replace the activators using the following steps:

  • Turn the blender over to the bottom, unscrew the screws at the bottom and remove the loose plastic bottom by pulling it up.
  • Raise the power cord away from the curved base and unscrew the screws that hold the white bracket down.
  • Unscrew the screws that hold the base and lift the curved base away from the outside casing.
  • Shake the outside casing until it is detached from the power base.
  • Position the Nutribullet powerbase at an angle where the white activators are visible. Using your fingers or tweezers, you can separate the rubber protectors from the activators.
  • Unscrew the screws at the sides of the power base.
  • Place the Nurtibullet blender facing upwards and lift the plastic casing.
  • Find out which activator is not working by applying pressure to them. Unscrew the screws attached to the activators, which are three in total.
  • Once you’ve identified the faulty activator, pull it away from the slot using little force.
  • Undo the green switch. The metal tab and black button will fall out. Fidget with the metal switch inside to get it back into place and then reassemble the blender. To know if you have reassembled it properly, you will hear a clicking sound.

If this method does not make your activator work, contact customer service for help.

5. The wires or internal components of the blender are exposed

Another reason your Nutribullet stopped working suddenly during use because the blender’s wires are exposed, which is very dangerous.

If wires and other internal parts are exposed during use, you should immediately unplug the blender and replace the outer wire casing or its internal parts.
